REMARKS: Historical and highly collectible Hamilton 922 14K Solid Yellow Gold Open Face Pocket Watch with US Navy Seal on the dial and engraved presentation from USS Cole Officers & Crew to Captain Harry P. Curley in 1931.   Talk about the provenance and rich piece of history! Hamilton 922 was the one of the highest grade models as well as one of the most expensive pocket watches that was made in the 1920s, for this particular watch to be given as a presentation to ship’s captain shows it’s definitely a highly treasured timepiece. As for the pocket watch itself the Hamilton 922 23 jewels 12 size dress pocket watch was one of the best on the market at the time with full gold train, 12 radial concentric circles of decoration, gold jewel settings and much more. The pocket watch itself is already a highly collectible antique and with the USS Cole provenance it’s really a marvelous and rare timepiece.

CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise the watch winds and runs well but we cannot make any guarantee on function as it is over 90 years old and we have not had it serviced. It looks like a strong runner so it needs nothing more than regular service to get it running superbly.  The swan-neck fine regulator is currently missing. Cosmetically the dial has some patina from its age including the solid gold hour markers which has a bit of tarnish here and there. The 14K solid gold case is in looks to be unpolished and the original presentation engraving on the caseback is still very sharp. The caseback does have some shallow dings and dents.  The watch is very well kept in wonderful shape and we certainly hope it becomes a treasured timepiece for the next owner. Diameter is 46mm.
