Mint Condition Current Model YEMA Superman 500 GMT Automatic Wristwatch with White and Red Bezel and Black Dial. Model reference is YGMT23B41-AMS, it has a 41mm diameter. YEMA was founded in 1948 in France and continues today as one of the only French watch manufacturers. From 1950-1970s YEMA was a brand that predominantly made technical tool watches such as their highly successful Superman and Rallygraf models. The Superman model was specially designed for diving, it is unique in having a patented bezel lockdown system to prevent the uni-directional bezel from being accidentally moved. This current model is bigger than the original Superman and it has been improved in every aspect of construction to allow for 500 meters water resistance. The signature bezel lockdown mechanism is still present on the current model to provide this watch with true YEMA heritage. The red and white bezel color pairing as well as the black dial with white markers really gives the watch that 1960-1970s diver’s watch flair.
