REMARKS: SOLD, PLEASE INQUIRE FOR FUTURE ORDER.
Highly historic and valuable pocket watch in the Vacheron & Constatin Chronometre Royal pocket watch from the 1890-90s that was made for the South American Elites. They favored large sized pocket watches and top makers such as Vacheron & Constantin made huge sized watches such as this one at 57mm. The total weight of this watch is also at a whopping 136.3 grams, that’s for an open faced watch! The Vacheron & Constantin Chronometre Royal was made to compete against Patek Philippe Chronometro Gondolo watches whereby the largest Patek was only 56mm and Vacheron upped the size to 57mm. These were certainly the largest open faced watches that the two famed Swiss brands ever made. This watch has 100% original movement, dial, hands, and case.
CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise the watch winds, sets, and runs strong but we cannot guarantee timekeeping accuracy or longevity as this is an antique timepiece that has not been serviced. From simple tests this watch seems to keep time well. For any antique watch movement we always recommend for the owner to conduct full service with qualified watchmaker to ensure longevity of the mechanism.
