REMARKS: Wonderful American Waltham 18 Size 14K Solid Gold Box Hinge Pocket Watch with a masterfully engraved stag deer/elk drinking from a creek running through a forest.  The artistically engraved 14K Solid Gold Case with Box Hing is what makes this Extra Large pocket watch truly special, it is thus extra heavy at a whopping total weight of 147.6g!  Inside the watch a Waltham 18 Size 15j Model 1883 movement serves as the timekeeper, it dates from around 1893.  Along the lines of American pocket watch tradition this movement is superbly decorated with various types of engine-turned engravings to make it a very fancy antique watch.

CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise the watch is running well but we’ve not tested it extensively and we do not know its service history so we cannot guarantee timekeeping accuracy or longevity.  We strongly recommend to have antique pocket watches fully serviced before putting it to regular use and this will help extend the life of the timepiece as well.  The decision and responsibility to service the watch is made solely by the end-user.  Cosmetically the caseback cover has some slight unevenness observed from the inside probably resulting from the engraving work originally.  There is also some unevenness with the dustcover.  With the bezel on the watch we didn’t observe any crack or chip on the enamel dial.  The 14K solid gold case itself is in very shape with no dent or dings (except the aforementioned caseback and dust covers).  Diameter is 54mm, total weight 147.6g.
