REMARKS: Art Deco period antique luxury 14K Gold Purse Watch / Desk Clock with Lapis & Enamel adornment branded by Shreve Crump & Low Co of Boston. Shreve Crump & Low is the oldest continuously operating jewelers in the United States since 1796 and it has always offered the finest luxury products in North American to their wealthy clientele. From the design to the execution of this exquisite Purse Watch / Desk Clock it totally aligns with the high quality products from Shreve Crump & Low. From the overall design this item is estimated to be from the Art Deco period from 1920-1930s. It is masterfully executed with Lapis Lazuli inlay set into the front and back covers of the timepiece with Green Enamel borders to create this aesthetic treasure. True to Art Deco designs this Purse Watch has highly geometric shape and lines along with Radium style dial. Inside the watch it uses a Depollier Watch Co. 15j movement which was a Swiss supplied movement made by Helvetia.
CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise it is running and setting but we have not checked the timekeeping accuracy or longevity. Therefore, we do not make any guarantee on the functions of the watch mechanism as this is an antique timepiece well cared for but have not been serviced. The maintenance and upkeeping of the watch is the sole responsibility of the next owner. Cosmetically it is in wonderful condition with no significant wear to the case and dial where the enamel and lapis décor are fully intact. The dial is in very nice original shape. On the front cover it has been initialized with what looks like a $ money sign. Dimensions are 32.5mm (width) x 41mm (length).
