A wonderful heirloom quality Henri Sandoz (Locle) Minute Repeater Chronograph Pocket Watch in 14K Solid Gold Hunter Case. This pocket watch is a High Grade Swiss Minute Repeater with both Hammers Jeweled. In addition a center chronograph function is also present, making it a rare and highly collectible antique timepiece. We would date the watch to around 1890s and based on the fly-wheel repeater mechanism the ebauche for this movement was made by Le Phare. The label for this watch is Henri/Henry Sandoz Locle, which was a highly-respected brand name coming from one of the best workshops in the Swiss Valley. This Pocket Watch is Massive in Size measuring at 54mm for diameter and 110.2g total weight.
CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise the watch runs and sets normally, but we cannot guarantee any functional or mechanical elements as this is an antique timepiece over 100 years in age. The repeater works wonderfully to the correct time and chimes loud and clear. Chiming resonance is good for both gongs. The chronograph works but again cleaning the movement will make it run flawlessly. We recommend for any and all antique pocket watches to undergo service by a trusted watchmaker to extend its usage life. Cosmetically the watch is in very good condition, there is only one slight defect to the enamel dial with a small chip to the center hole. The case is in really good condition with most of the engine-turning engravings still intact.
