Incredible piece of antique pocket watch history as a true collectible piece of horology. In this listing we have a E. Howard Watch Co. (Keystone) 10 Size Open Faced Octagon Pocket Watch Presented as 20 Years (1913-1933) Active Service Gift to a New York Fireman who works in Engine Company 201 based in Brooklyn. New York Fire Department Engine Company has a long history since 1869 and even until the modern era it has lost firefighers heros in the 911 terrorist attacks in 2001. The watch itself is an E. Howard Watch Co. (Keystone) Series 15 Movement made around 1924 with 19 jewels. It is the 20 years Active Service Presentation (20 encrusted in diamonds) and High Relief Seal of the F.D.N.Y. on the caseback that makes this watch special historically. There is even enamel adornment encircling the diamond encrusted number 20. The entire emblem on the caseback is so well done that it’s a piece of art. The generations of owners took such great care of the watch that it appears unused.
