REMARKS: Fantastic example of the Elgin ‘Lord Elgin’ Corsican Model Grade 450 Pocket Watch in Fantastic 14K White & Yellow Gold Two-Tone Case. This is truly an heirloom collectible antique pocket watch with one of the best movements Elgin made in the 1920s. ‘Dress’ pocket watches were the most popular and cost the highest in the 1910-1920s when design of pocket watches became smaller and thinner for wearing convenience and elegance. This particular Elgin ‘Lord Elgin’ Corsican Model in 14K White & Yellow Gold Case retailed for $165 in the early 1920s. It is made to compete with the best watches on the market, so from the inside-out everything was made top notch. The 14K Solid Gold Case has a superbly fine engine-turned caseback that made it look almost holographic at certain angles. The grade 450 21 jewel movement was adjusted to a stunning 8 positions & temperatures with features such as a solid gold wheel train.
CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise the watch winds and runs well but we cannot make any guarantee on function as it is over 100 years old and we have not had it serviced. Any maintenance or upkeeping is the sole responsibility of the end user. Cosmetically there really is no complaint except for a tiny bit of dial spotting. Guaranteed 100% original and authentic.
