REMARKS: Wonderful antique International Watch Co (IWC) 14K Yellow Gold ‘Lepine Empire’ Type Open Face Pocket Watch with the Original Box, Paperwork and Excerpt from Archive. This IWC Pocket Watch was sold on 1927 which makes it close to 100 years old and it’s so fantastic to have its original set of accessories. The ‘Lepine Empire’ Type of watch design was popular in the Art Deco period with linear geometric decoration on the caseback in addition to laurel leaves on the case body as well as coin edging to the bezel. This IWC pocket watch is quadruple signed on the dial, inside caseback, dustcover and movement. Inside the watch it house one of the famous movements in the calibre 73 bridge movement with 17 jewels.
CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise it is running and setting but we have not checked the timekeeping accuracy or longevity. Therefore, we do not make any guarantee on the functions of the watch mechanism as this is an antique timepiece well cared for but have not been serviced. The maintenance and upkeeping of the watch is the sole responsibility of the next owner. Cosmetically the watch is in great shape with some very fine scratches and having slight patina on the original white dial. All three hands are original as well. The case in in terrific shape with no dings or dents and it is 14K solid gold for both caseback and dustcover. The original box has a tear on the top cover lip section and current the top side of the box is not fastened by the opening button. The set will come with original box (top cover is not latching), Guarantee Paper and Excerpt From Archive. Diameter is 50mm (20 lignes), total weight 70 grams. For antique watch collectors and lovers this is a set you don’t want to pass up.
