REMARKS: Rare International Watch Co (IWC) Portuguese Chrono Rattrapante Split Seconds 250pcs Limited Edition Wristwatch made in Platinum 950.  The model reference for this watch is IW371205 and the diameter is 41mm.  Within the IWC Portuguese product lineup this Chrono Rattrapante or Split Seconds Chronograph is one of the most complicated and highly prized.  The Rattrapante Split Seconds mechanism allows for simultaneous timing of two participantes of a race and shows their timing difference in between.  To achieve this simultaneous timing capacity a highly delicate split seconds fork and wheel mechanism has be built on top of the already intricate chronograph mechanism which is considered one of the hardest skills for watchmakers.  This is a mechanical hand-winding watch IWC Portuguese has always been the flagship model for the brand and to house this special chronograph in a platinum 950 case with limited edition of 250pcs made it is really a highly collectible wristwatch.  The weight of platinum 950 case makes it feel extra heavy (132.3g total) compared to other watches and gives the owner that unmistakable sense of internal value through its hefty weight.  Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is $27,500.

CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise the watch is winding and running and all of the chronograph functions work including start-stop-reset-split.  Our watchmaker examined the watch and it was running well and keeping time.  However, service or maintenance was not performed under our supervision and it’s under the sole discretion of the end-user in regards to service or maintenance.  We do not provide long-term functional guarantee on the watch.  Cosmetically the watch is in good condition with a Brand New dark blue alligator strap attached.  It has not been polished, there are various scratches, small dents and dings throughout the case that do not distract against the overall appearance of the watch.  On the back of the lug underneath the reset button there is a small area of dings on the edge.  There are also some small dings to the bezel with the most noticeable ones between 2-3 o’clock and 5-6 o’clock.  Dial has a few tiny specs (probably dirt) near 7 o’clock marker and certain areas of discoloration or tarnish towards the outer rim that are hard to see.  It comes with IWC Inner/Outer Boxes (vinyl peeling) and Instruction Manual.
