Great vintage diver’s watch in the IWC Porsche Design Ocean 500 which was the smaller version of Ocean 2000 that was the first ever watch to achieve 2000 meters water resistance in the 1980’s.  Model Reference is IW3502-1 and the Ocean 500 was a true collaboration between IWC and Porsche Design where the former manufactured the watch and the F.A. Porsche, the designer of the legendary Porsche 911 was responsible for the design.  In the 1980s when this watch was made 500 meters water resistance was a depth unachievable by most watch brand let alone the IWC Porsche Design Ocean 2000 that has 2000 meters water resistance.  IWC and Porsche Design went for the extra high tech titanium case and bracelet even in the 1980s when titanium hasn’t been popularized in watchmaking yet.  Thus this is a very unique and high tech watch for the 1980s.

CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise the watch runs and all of the chronograph functions work.  We have not had it serviced so we do not offer any functional or mechanical guarantee.  Ultimately the decision to service the watch is the sole responsibility of the end user.  IT HAS NOT BEEN TESTED FOR WATER RESISTANCE SO PLEASE DON’T ASSUME IT’S 500M WATER RESISTANT.  We do not take any responsibility for water or moisture issues.  Cosmetically the watch is in fair to good condition considering it is around 40 years old with scratches on the case, bezel and bracelet.  Hour markers on the dial and bezel has aged to a beige-yellow color.  Dial is in mint shape.  The bracelet has a lot of surface wear but remains UNPOLISHED.  It has full length bracelet that can wear up to 9” inches.  No box or paperwork, guaranteed 100% authentic.  Diameter is 33mm.
