A truly wonderful specimen of the finest mechanical timepiece in the world in this A. Lange & Söhne Richard Lange Observation Wriswatch in 18K Solid Gold. This model was made to commemorate the achievement of Richard Lange, eldest son of the founder Adolf Lange. He was master watchmaker, scientist and director of the Lange manufactury for many decades where he also earned many innovative patents including a proprietary alloy to improve the hairspring. Thus this model that bears his name has a special hairspring manufactured in-house by A. Lange & Söhne. The Richard Lange manual winding watch was meant to be a fine observation chronometer watch on the wrist that emulates top grade chronometer watches of the late 1880s. It houses manual winding caliber L041.2 with 26 jewels and all of the highest order finish in the whole world of haute horology. The watch has a power reserve of 38 hours. The yellow gold version of Richard Lange was only made from 2006-2010 and thus rarer than the current 232.032 rose gold model. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is $32,500
