Iconic IWC Big Pilot 7 Days Automatic Mens Wristwatch in Stainless Steel.  Model Reference is IW500201.  This is the ‘original’ version of the IWC Big Pilot 7 Days that became one of the brand’s best-selling product starting from year 2002 and we’ve acquired it from the original owner accompanied by its original set of boxes and paperwork.  IWC Big Pilot 7 Days was quite revolutionary when it debuted as few if any other manufacturers made a watch with 7 Days Power Reserve.  IWC only just developed caliber 5000 in year 2000 as their first in-house movement since the 1970-80s quartz era which served as the base movement for the 7 days power reserve caliber 5011 that serves as the workhorse timekeeper in this IWC Big Pilot Watch.  Since caliber 5011 is a massive 38mm in diameter, another revolutionary concept was applied to the IWC Big Pilot 7 Days which was the massive stainless steel case at 46.2mm when most of mens wristwatches in year 2002 were smaller than 37mm.  In many ways the IWC Big Pilot 7 Days was one of the iconic trailblazer watch designs that brought about the massive wristwatch trend of the modern era.  This particular ‘original’ or ‘first generation’ IWC Big Pilot 7 Days is scarce to begin with and it’s made even more collectible with the original boxes and paperwork that came from the original owner.  Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is $11,200.

CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise the watch is in very good shape and it is a decent timekeeper.  All of the power reserve and date functions work as they should.  However, the watch has not been serviced by us and we do not offer timekeeping or any functional guarantee.  Cosmetically as its original owner took great care wearing it so that even now it is in very good shape.  For a watch of this age, it has the associated surface scratches and occasional tiny dings to the case and bezel.  It has NOT BEEN POLISHED so the watch is as original as it gets.  The IWC Big Pilot Leather Strap with rivets is worn so that the text inside the strap is not obvious anymore but it is still sturdy and ready to serve the next owner.  It wears between 7-8” inches in length.  The date window metal framing looks to have some tarnish to it, besides this the dial is in excellent shape with no imperfection.  The sapphire crystal is also clean with no scratch or pits.  It comes with the original inner/outer boxes (inner wood box vinyl lining cracking and peeling), Instructional Manual, Guarantee Booklet/Card (date unsigned), Hang Tag and Microfiber Cloth.  Diameter is 46.2mm.
