CURRENT MODEL Omega Speedmaster ‘First Omega in Space’ Moonwatch designed to commemorate the first OMEGA worn in space by astronaut Walter Schirra on the Sigma 7 mission of the Mercury program. Model reference is 304.33.44.52.01.001. This commemorative rendition pays homage to the ‘First Omega in space’ with the same size at 39.7mm and houses mechanical manual wind chronograph movement Cal.3861 that is the the latest model for the legendary Cal.321 movement with Master Chronometer certification rated to 15,000 gauss magnetism resistance. To keep its vintage look Omega kept the ‘dot-over-90’ on the aluminum tachymetre bezel and kept the original vintage logo as well as applying patina colored lume to its markers. The caseback comes with a vintage-style Seahorse and it’s also engraved with ‘THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE’ and ‘OCTOBER 3, 1962’ again to celebrate this momentous date. This watch come with Sapphire crystal. As of October 2025 Omega has already significantly increased US retailer prices due to ongoing reciprocal import tariff.
