REMARKS: Marvelous piece of antique pocket watch history as a true collectible piece of horology. In this listing we have a E. Howard Watch Co. (Keystone) 10 Size Open Faced Pocket Watch Presented as Retirement gift to a New York 54th Precinct Sergeant in year 1928 case in 14K Solid Gold with the Seal of New York City Police. The watch itself is an E. Howard Watch Co. (Keystone) Series 12 Movement made around 1922 with 17 jewels. It is the police retirement presentation and high relief seal on the caseback that makes this watch special historically. The generations of owners took such great care of the watch that it appears unused.
CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise the watch winds and runs but it has not been serviced (it has probably never been serviced and just kept in the safe) so we do not make any mechanical or operational guarantee. It has not been serviced by the seller and it’s under the sole discretion of the end-user in regards to service or maintenance. PLEASE DO NOT EXPOSE IT TO MOISTURE OR DIP IT IN WATER AS IT IS NOT ASSUMED TO BE WATER RESISTANT. Cosmetically the watch is in excellent condition. There is a layer of patina of the 14K solid gold case which shows the watch has never been altered or touched up. It comes with its Howard black colored mahogany box. Diameter is 44mm, total weight is 41.6g. Collectors really can take great advantage to own a piece of history in such great shape and the value of such as treasure will only increase with time.
