There are no significant cosmetic condition issues. The ornate metal dial is in good shape with slight tarnish here and there. Glass crystal has some scratches on the surface. Overall it’s in very good shape and a great antique watch to collect due to its rarity and legend. Diameter measures at 44mm, total weight 54.3g. |

Illinois ILLINI 13 size Open Face Pocket Watch with a 14 Karat Solid White Gold Engraved Case that is heavy and luxurious. The Illinois ILLINI itself is a 3-star rarity watch having been manufactured at the tail-end of this storied watchmaking brand’s history. Generally speaking Illinois is one of the best quality American manufacturers of watches that had workmanship rivaling the Swiss. The ILLINI Grade 538 was a good example why in the 1910-20s Americans were still competent to make high quality products to compete against Swiss watches. Only 3,100 Illini Pocket Watches were produced making it a scarce model.
