| CONDITION: | Winds and Runs. Running duration unkwnown. It’s missing the winding stem we can’t test time setting. Cosmetically the dial has some cracks near the center post and a small missing outer section from 25-28sec in the subdial. There are also hairline cracks on the enamel dial. The movement is in good general cosmetic shape for its age but it does have tarnish and slight bit of rust. Diameter is 44mm. |

Swiss Valley Pivoted Detent Chronometer Escapement Pocket Watch Movement signed by Jules Rauss of Chaux-de-Fonds. From the style of the movement this is circa 1860-1870s and it is a top grade mechanism based on its features. We have rarely seen a detent chronometer escapement movement equipped with solid rose gold train wheels. The manufacturer of this movement must have been a highly skilled maker which could have been Jules Rauss or he might be a wholesaler or agent of the actual maker.
CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise the movement winds and runs but we don’t know for how long since as it has not been serviced in many years. We do not guarantee or have any warranty for movements used for parts. Cosmetically the dial has some cracks near the center post and a small missing outer section from 25-28sec in the subdial. There are also hairline cracks on the enamel dial. The movement is in good general cosmetic shape for its age but it does have tarnish and slight bit of rust. Diameter is 44mm.
