A spectacular Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days 18K Rose Gold Micro-Rotor Automatic Wristwatch.  This is a limited edition watch of 500pcs.  The PAM00573 is robust and luxurious like all solid gold Panerai watches but it is also unique in the sense that it uses the brand’s inaugural Micro-Rotor Automatic Movement released in 2017.  Not many watch manufacturers today takes on the challenge to design an automatic micro-rotor movement from the ground up as it has been historically difficult to engineer a robust one and it often lacked enough power reserve due to the thinness.  Panerai has successfully designed a robust micro-rotor movement in the P.4000 to have 3 days power reserve stemming from 2 mainspring barrels and it has a heavy 22 karat rotor to generate enough inertia to wind up the watch very well.  Aesthetically the P.4000 movement is a joy to behold with the fancy embossed small off-centered automatic rotor and radial sand-blasted finish throughout.  Naturally the micro-rotor movement makes the watch thinner in profile which is a great characteristic for the bulkier Panerai watches that are now equipped with this movement to be more comfortable to wear.  The Radiomir case with solid lugs is also one of the highlights as it is milled from one solid block of Panerai’s proprietory Goldtech 18K red gold.  This means the gold case has a redder hue and will tarnish less due to the special alloy and the lugs are as sturdy as they get since they are from the same block of gold as the case itself.  Currently the P.4000 movement is no longer available in the Radiomir solid gold cases, only stainless steel versions carry this fantastic movement and it makes the PAM00573 even more appealing at its brand-standard 45mm diameter size.  Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is $22,500.
