REMARKS: One of the rarest limited edition set of watches ever made by Panerai in this Radiomir 1940 Set with Minerva Calibre 16-17 Movements.  This set is known by reference PAM00784 composed by two individual watches, PAM00398 in Rose Gold and PAM00399 in stainless steel where each watch was made in the limited series of 100pcs where only 50pcs of each one was made in matching sets with matching numbers.  These Panerai Limited Edition watches made from 2012-2014 with historical Minerva movements were some of the rarest limited series watches produced by Panerai intended to provide collectors with exclusivity in scarcity.  Not only were the Panerai Radiomir 1940 PAM00784/PAM00398/PAM00399 made in scarce numbers of only 50 sets, they were designed to pay homage to vintage Panerai Radiomir from 1940s thus they carried historical new-old-stock (NOS) Minerva calibre 16-17 movements re-engineered to become Panerai OP XXVII calibre.  This was only made possible by Richemont Group’s acquisition of Minerva in the mid 2000s where the congolmerate’s portfolio of brands had access to Minerva’s stock of NOS parts and ebauches.  Other Panerai Limited Edition watches carrying Minerva’s NOS movements include the PAM00387, PAM00521, PAM00522, PAM00309, and PAM00519.  This set of PAM00784/PAM00398/PAM00399 is wonderful in its scarcity and remarkable in its completeness and condition.  It was only sold through Panerai boutiques via sequestered ordering from 2012 and few have ever come up for sale on the secondary market with COMPLETE SET. Manufacturer Suggested Retail Prices were $43,000 for PAM00398 and $22,900 for PAM00399, together this set was priced at $82,100 through Panerai Boutiques.

CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise both of the watches in this set are in good running condition.  We don’t see prior record for service so we assume these have not been serviced since they were purchased new from Panerai Boutique New York in 2014.  Therefore we do not offer timekeeping or any functional guarantee.  Ultimately the decision to service the watch is the sole responsibility of the end user.  Cosmetically these were a one owner watches before we acquired it and he kept it in wonderful shape for the next lucky owner.  Both of the watches are in excellent condition pre-owned.  The original owner has taken great care of them with only very minimal surface wear such as tiny scratches to the case and the plexiglass crystal (the set comes with two extra brand new crystals in the box).  The rose gold PAM398 has a small ding to the outer rim of bezel near the 50min position.  The straps are also in excellent shape ready to be worn.  It looks like for these special watches the original owner rarely wore them.  It comes with FULL SET BOX & ACCESSORIES including Massive Panerai Italian Wood Box with Key (13.5”x13.5”x6”), Certificate Sheet for Radiomir 1940 Special Edition Set (Hand Signed), Radiomir 1940 Catalogue, Guarantee Booklets with International Warranty Certificate Cards for both watches, Instructional Manuals for both watches, and Two Extra Plexiglass Crystals stored in containers.  Both the PAM00398/PAM00399 are 47mm in diameter.
