| CONDITION: | Runs, Winds, Sets, 5-Minute Repeater and Chronograph Work, Not Serviced. Cosmetically the watch is in very good condition, with a scratch slightly underneath to the left of the center post on the enamel dial. We don’t see any hairlines. There are a few shallow dents/dings to the front and back covers. Both of the front and movement-observing crystals are still intact which adds to the completeness of this watch. The movement is in very good shape cosmetically with only slight tarnish. The case is in good condition with most of the engine-turning engravings still intact. |

REMARKS: Heirloom quality Henri Sandoz (Le Locle) 5 Minute Repeater Chronograph Pocket Watch in 14K Solid Gold Hunter Case. This pocket watch is a High Grade Swiss 5 Minute Repeater with H.Sandoz’s signature crest ‘sine dolo’ on top of the repeater gongs. In addition a center chronograph function is also present, making it a rare and highly collectible antique timepiece. We would date the watch to around 1880s and based on the lack of fly-wheel repeater mechanism. The label for this watch is Henri/Henry Sandoz Locle, which was a highly-respected brand name coming from one of the best workshops in the Swiss Valley. This Pocket Watch is massive in size measuring at 55mm for diameter and 117.3g total weight.
CONDITION REPORT: Condition-wise the watch runs and the 5 minute repeater plus the chronograph functions all work normally. However, we cannot guarantee any functional or mechanical elements for this watch as this is an antique timepiece over 100 years in age. The repeater works wonderfully to sound the correct time and chimes loud and clear. Chiming resonance is good for both gongs. We strongly recommend for any and all antique pocket watches to undergo service by a trusted watchmaker to extend its usage life.
